A ride with friends on Roosevelt Lake

We launched our boat for the first time this season in the cool waters of Roosevelt Lake Saturday afternoon.

The warm weather and large, scenic desert lake seemed like perfect conditions to start working on the ol' tan.

You know every girl wants that tanned skin to make her eyes shine brighter and her teeth to look whiter! As of now I have the opposite, white skin and tanned teeth and the summer months are fast approaching.

YIKES!

The guys on the boat clearly had another picture running through there minds as they grabbed the bindings, ropes, handles, vests and wakeboards.

It was pure enjoyment for them as they plunged into the 69 degree cold water and began strapping their feet into the boots attached to their wakeboards.

Not such a groovy idea to the girls on board who screamed each time that cold water sprayed the boat, it was freaking cold! Not the ideal time for us to start wakeboarding. The guys on board seemed unbothered by the water temperature?!?

BACK TO SCHOOL 2012.

Woa, I'm already school shopping?!  How is it possible that the summer is gone and school is upon us already?   I may not be ready for the kids to go back to school quite yet (I want more vacation time ) but they are.   Now that the kids have met their teachers (we got lucky, everyone is thrilled with their teacher choice) and have reacquainted themselves with friends they are ready to begin a new school year.  Britley is a THIRD grader this year. She is extremely bright and ready to get to work. Breeley is a FIFTH grader.   I can't believe it!  She makes friends easily and is happy to meet her "new friends". Dawson is in 8th grade.   This will be his last year of Jr. High!  Oh boy- I'm sure he will make it a memorable year (His poor teachers).  He happens to be the "funny kid" in school.  We've gotten to know all his teachers a little more than we would have liked to.
