CHRISTMAS 2013

Image
Once again we packed our bags and set out for our wintery wonderland in Midway, Utah.  Our Christmas this year was similar to last year.  We had one minor difference.  We decided not to exchange gifts at all this year.  It was a group decision and was done in exchange for a good cause. The exchange brought feelings of joy that will last a lifetime. My kids' generosity makes my heart swell with joy!  We skied away our Christmas day at the Canyons Ski Resort in Park City, Utah and captured some marvelous memories in the process… I'm wearing the smile this amazing family continues to give me. Dawson, Bree and Brit traded in their skies this year for snowboards.  They picked it up right away and loved every second of it.  I guess I'm the only one left on skies.  Maybe next year I'll give the board a try?! Just typing that scares me to death.  Mr. B.T.C is an amazing teacher! T

Merry Christmas from our family to yours! May this season bring love, laughter, joy and most  importantly a remembrance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Your Christmas cards brought our family much joy!   Thank you for thinking of us this holiday season.

BRITLEY TURNS 10

Britley wanted a party this year, so a party is what she got! Her request: pizza, ice cream, games and swimming. Happy 10th to our darling daughter!

BEST FRIENDS MAKE YOU CRY

I anxiously pulled into the school parking lot a little earlier than usual.  According to Britley we had made the “perfect” birthday party invitations just the night before. She had given me strict instructions to be at school early so she could hand out her pool party themed invitations to friends she had meticulously selected. She climbed into the car as usual with a big smile stretched across her face. She was happy to see her mom but even happier when she saw the neatly stacked pile of colorful invitations. She grabbed the stack and off she disappeared into the maze of children.  Before I knew it she was back in the car and the two of us sat waiting for Breeley(sister) to finish after school flute lessons. As we chatted, Britley mentioned that her best friend Maizy had left school early.  She stated that Maizy couldn’t tell her why she was leaving early.  It was a “secret” but promised that she would tell as soon as she got clearance from her parents. JUST ME AND THE GIRLS

The boys (Wes and Dawson) are off to scout camp.  Mr. B.T.C and Nathan just left on a hunting trip to Utah.  That leaves me and the girls home alone.  Get ready to shop until you drop girls! This is gonna be a fun week! Late night movies, pizza, chocolate cake and popcorn.  Afternoon and late night swimming.  Shopping bags galore. New shades of lipstick.  Yep, that pretty much sums up the week.  Now hide the Nordi bags girls Mr. B.T.C is coming home:)

ELDER SPENCER WILKINS

I have experienced few things in life as sweet as when Spencer was set apart as a missionary this past week.  Many friends and family were gathered around to hear his powerful blessing.  Many tears were shed as each loved one poured out their love and shared testimonies with him.  I have never felt the spirit as strong as I did while sitting in that little room the evening of June 11th.  This kid has touched the lives of so many through his uplifting energy and positive example.   These boys are Spencer's best of friends. They have a powerful bond with each other.  Each of these boys, except Fred (third from the right) have received their mission calls and will all be serving Spanish speaking missions.  Spencer will be serving in Birmingham, Alabama and YES this is a Spanish speaking mission!  Fred joined the church just under a year ago and is waiting for the opportunity to put in his mission papers.  Watching these boys has taught me the power of your children choos
