Movies and Motocross

Mr. B.T.C. and I may have made an irresponsible decision loading up the kids and heading to the movie theatre on a school night but in doing so we pretty much had the whole theatre to ourselves. We were ready for a little nerdy fun as we handed out the 3D glasses. We watched the X games in 3D. It was a little long for the girls but not long enough for the boys, especially Mr.B.T.C. I sat through this movie literally on the edge of my seat as I watched these adrenaline seeking freaks do their crazy stunts. It took me back to over a year ago when Mr. B.T.C. was not only riding dirt bikes but racing them. I think my husband may have a little of that adrenaline disorder that was talked about in this movie running through his veins too. There's no doubt about it according to the boys around my house that dirt biking is cool, fast, and gives you a rush. I don't think anyone can dispute the fact that there is a certain breed of people that just love breathing in that dirt filled air a

Menu planning

Of the myriad tasks moms have to do, What do you suppose is the most dreaded? WOW! I can almost hear all of you screaming in unison, "Planning and preparing meals!" Yeah, it was for me too! It was like this unrelenting voice in the back of my head saying, "What are you going to make for dinner tonight" (day in and day out). I seriously wanted to throw that voice in an imaginary drawer and shut it! I usually didn't plan menus and would end up at the grocery store with no idea of what I wanted to buy, let alone, make . Without fail the result would be... a fridge full of food that would go bad before I had any chance of using it. Or, when I did have a desire to make something, I usually didn't have the ingredients so back to the store I would go to get those few items that I needed and some how end up with another cart full of... who knows what?!? Talk about wasting valuable time and money. So, if any of this sound familiar to you...STOP and take a deep breat

chores by choice

In my experience, getting a child to do the assigned chores they're responsible for can be challenging. The worst is when the children get bored with their routine schedule that you have worked so hard on or maybe it's listening to them complain or perhaps even worse than that is when they don't even do the chore in the first place, leaving you angry or just down right frustrated. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Well, I've come up with a plan that eliminates the anger, frustration, and complaining, as a matter of fact, it is replaced with praise, gratitude , and appreciation. I understand that this may not be appealing to some of you once you've read through this and realize that the organizer of the home (I'm assuming that would be MOM) is left to do what no one else wants to do. But, this really seems to work around our home. OK , enough babbling. Let me pass on a simpler way to get your children to pitch in. First, I went to Staples and bought everything

get wet, cool down, and have some fun

This was how we chose to end our summer, the weekend before the new school year started. We enjoyed one last trip to the lake to enjoy the sun, food, swimming, boating, family, and friends. These two guys love to submerse themselves in water sports whenever possible, so, they went first. Candice and I took care of capturing the memories The driver of the boat Teaching Dawson some basics before strapping on the wake board Peacefully enjoying the view before .... Curtis tosses them in ... one by one Sometimes against their will A little training in progress This one had to be talked into it. OK, maybe bribed. Well, actually, she was forced. Little dare devils! They had so much fun ... well most of the time. Your Daddy thinks its funny as he tosses you into the air and throws you about like little rag dolls on the tube. I do not! The girls' first time on the tube. Clearly, not the boys' first time. Flag boy This little one curled up next to her Daddy when she got tired.
