C Life

Have we really been married this long?! I guess it's not so much the number of years as it is the quality of the relationship.  What a BLESSING to be able to say that it just keeps getting better! There are times when I glance at him from across the room (even after all these years together) and feel such a sense of gratitude that he is mine.  This let's me know, I still have a crush on him!!! This photo can speak to you in one of two ways: 1.  He is about to choke me, which I'm certain this may have crossed his mind a time or two  throughout the years. He says I can be stubborn at times, but only sometimes. :) or 2. He is lovingly wrapping his arms around me, seconds from whispering something romantic into my ear.  Sorry to disappoint, but it is the latter.  We are kind of mushy, mushy that way. Yeah, we wanna still act like we are cool sometimes---even after five kids.

It's a nice time for the kids to take a break from the books and flock to the sand, sun and fun. One of our favorite places to stay while visiting Mission Beach is the Pacific Terrace.  It overlooks the beach and is only minutes from the old town shops and amazing restaurants. I was so thrilled when I found out my sister (Chrisy) and her two children (Hayley and Reilly) would be joining us.  They are a ball of energy and SO MUCH FUN!  Hayley Sister love. Seriously?! There are a few moments that occur in life that as a mother you know will be treasured throughout all of eternity and this was one of those.  Our oldest son Nathan received his patriarchal blessing on Sunday, February 16, 2014.   He went to his bishop and scheduled an interview without me even knowing.  As a matter of fact, I didn't even know that this special appointment was scheduled until the day of.  This is pretty typical of Nathan.  He's extremely independent and does most things on his own.   A wave of emotion seemed to rush over me as he announced that later that evening he would be receiving this special blessing and requested that both his father and I be present. I was overcome with joy knowing that receiving inspired direction from the Lord at this very time in his life was a priority.  Although it is too sacred to freely share what personal counsel the Lord had for him, I will share some of the thoughts that ran through my mind as ...

Once again we packed our bags and set out for our wintery wonderland in Midway, Utah.  Our Christmas this year was similar to last year.  We had one minor difference.  We decided not to exchange gifts at all this year.  It was a group decision and was done in exchange for a good cause. The exchange brought feelings of joy that will last a lifetime. My kids' generosity makes my heart swell with joy!  We skied away our Christmas day at the Canyons Ski Resort in Park City, Utah and captured some marvelous memories in the process… I'm wearing the smile this amazing family continues to give me. Dawson, Bree and Brit traded in their skies this year for snowboards.  They picked it up right away and loved every second of it.  I guess I'm the only one left on skies.  Maybe next year I'll give the board a try?! Just typing that scares me to death.  Mr. B.T.C is an amazing teacher! ...
