All "Dolled Up" with a Pocket Full of Birthday Wishes

Image
How has it already been six years? It seems like just yesterday I was lying in a hospital bed, holding my newborn baby and soaking up every second, knowing she would be my last. I remember looking at her tiny face and wishing I could somehow slow time down. And now... She's six. Like every mom before me, I find myself asking, "Where has the time gone?" Watching her grow has been one of life's greatest blessings. She's growing taller. She's growing wiser. And she's never short on making us laugh. Just last week she asked if she was so smart because she'd been eating so many Smarties. Naturally, she concluded that must be the reason. I absolutely love her sweet little observations. She has a smile that brightens every room... Kisses that melt your heart... And a heart overflowing with love. This year she also had a pocket full of birthday wishes. Thankfully, her birthday fell over Labor Day weekend, giving us the perfect opportunity to make a few of thos...

The Perfect Jack-o'-Lantern

Image
We found the  perfect  jack-o'-lantern to help us get into the autumn spirit. The best part? You'll never be able to duplicate it! Here's why... It's not creepy or scary... it's actually pretty cute. It's not too small—it's just the right size. It's perfectly balanced with a nice sturdy base. It's solid. Not too soft or mushy. Its color is beautifully even. You never have to throw it away after Halloween. If it starts to rot, you simply put it in time-out. A good tickle instantly fixes any funny facial expressions. No candle is needed. It lets its little light shine all the time. And best of all... it even grows back missing teeth! Are you ready for the big reveal? Meet our perfect little jack-o'-lantern... Miss Breeley! With that big smile and a few missing teeth, I'm pretty sure she'll be the cutest jack-o'-lantern on the block this Halloween.

Baby Photography

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing this precious little bundle of joy. Little Miss H. was an absolute dream to photograph. She was tiny, peaceful, and full of those sweet little expressions that only newborns seem to have. There is something so special about this stage of life. Their tiny fingers. Their little toes. The softest cheeks. And the way they fit so perfectly in your arms. These first few weeks pass by in the blink of an eye, which makes photographs like these even more meaningful. Isn't she absolutely precious?

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Image
There's just something about a baseball game that feels like summer. The smell of hot dogs and popcorn. The excitement of cheering with thousands of fans. The anticipation of every pitch. And spending an evening together as a family. We loaded everyone into the car and headed to Chase Field to cheer on our hometown Arizona Diamondbacks. It was an especially fun night because it was the girls' very first Major League Baseball game. They loved every minute of it. From the moment we found our seats until the final fireworks lit up the sky, they were completely entertained. We were also lucky enough to spend the evening with good friends, which made the experience even better. Of course, no trip to the ballpark is complete without eating far more than you planned. Hot dogs. Popcorn. Treats. And yes... We definitely ate... And ate... And ate. One of the highlights of the evening came when former Diamondbacks player  Luis Gonzalez  signed the kids' T-shirts and stopped to take pi...
