One afternoon, I brought my camera to the girls' jazz class rehearsal, hoping to capture a few memories before their Christmas performance. It turned out to be one of my favorite photo sessions. Breeley, Britley, and my niece, Emmie, were all in the same class, practicing their adorable  Reindeer Dance . From the moment the music began, they danced with all the enthusiasm and confidence their little hearts could muster. There is something especially endearing about watching young children perform. Some remember every step, some add a few steps of their own, and all of them dance as if they're the stars of the show. Their tiny costumes, bright smiles, and carefree excitement filled the room with joy. Between the rehearsed dance moves were little giggles, whispers to friends, and those candid moments that make childhood so beautiful. I'm so grateful I brought my camera that day. While everyone else was watching the rehearsal, I was able to preserve a season of life that passe...

Some children don't just smile for the camera...they let you see exactly who they are. That was Emmie and Isaac. One photograph captured a sparkle in their eyes. Another revealed their playful side. A quiet moment showed a tender heart. Before long, their personalities began telling the story better than words ever could. That's what I love most about photography. It's not just about taking pictures of faces; it's about capturing the little pieces of a person's personality that make them wonderfully unique. These are some of my favorite images of my sweet niece, Emmie, and my nephew, Isaac. Every smile, every expression, and every candid moment reminds me of the joy they bring to our family. Photographs have a beautiful way of preserving not only what someone looked like, but also a glimpse of who they were in that season of life. I'm so grateful these moments were captured, because personalities like theirs deserve to be remembered.

One of my favorite gifts to give is a photograph. There's something so meaningful about freezing a moment in time...especially when it's a child's genuine smile, a curious expression, or a quiet glance that lasts only a second. These are some of the sweet children of neighbor friends whom I've  had the privilege of photographing recently. Every child brought a different personality in front of the camera. Some occurred to me as full of energy, some shy, and some needed a little time before their smiles appeared. But every one of them had something beautiful to capture. I've learned that the best photographs aren't always the perfectly posed ones. They're the ones that tell a story... a laugh that couldn't be contained, a playful sparkle in the eyes, a tiny hand reaching for Mom, or the confidence that shines when a child simply gets to be themselves. It has always been an honor when friends trust me to preserve these fleeting moments for their families. ...

One of my greatest joys is capturing the people I love most. These photographs aren't about perfect poses or everyone looking at the camera. They're about real life... the hugs, the laughter, the playful moments, the quiet conversations, and the love that fills the spaces in between. There's something special about watching my children with their dad. Whether they're playing together, sharing a laugh, wrapped in a hug, or simply enjoying one another's company, these are the moments I never want to forget. Mixed in are snapshots of each of the kids simply being themselves. Their personalities shine through in ways words never could...their curiosity, their energy, their kindness, and the little expressions that make each one wonderfully unique. Photographs have a way of preserving what time quietly tries to steal. The little hands grow bigger, the hugs become fewer, and childhood slowly gives way to adulthood. Thanksgiving morning started a little differently than I had planned. The boys were up early and headed to the soccer field to play football with friends from our ward. Technically, I probably should have stayed home preparing dinner... But instead, I grabbed my camera and followed them. I'm so glad I did. A steady rain the night before had left the field full of giant mud puddles, and both the  big  boys and the  little  boys thought that was the best Thanksgiving gift they could have asked for. There was football, plenty of slipping and sliding, and more mud than grass by the end of the morning. Judging by the smiles in these pictures, I'd say they had the time of their lives. Eventually I left the boys to their fun and headed home, where my sister, Kelli, and I began preparing our Thanksgiving feast.
